MatchPoint and SharePoint 2010
MatchPoint and SharePoint 2010 - teaming together to bring you
more value.
We are very excited that Microsoft is raising the awareness of
the "SharePoint Taxonomy" - a technology that we have been
pioneering for almost four years.
Many customers are wondering what added value MatchPoint
provides with SharePoint 2010. After all, if you need a taxonomy,
why not use Microsoft's Term Store? Indeed the Term Store does
have some nice features like Office integration and a simple
tagging interface.
However, MatchPoint offers far more. It allows you to
implement more complex scenarios, provides a much better
user-experience and higher performance. In particular,
MatchPoint takes the SharePoint taxonomy to the next level
through:
- A beautifully crafted user-interface for fast searching and
results-refinement, using Ajax for responsive experience
- Scalable semantic metadata model enables efficient working with
a large taxonomy
- Ability to tag not just list-items, but also SharePoint
containers such as site-collections, webs, folders
- Relationships between tag groups
- Security on individual tags
- Inheritance of tags throughout the SharePoint architecture
- Visibility of tag-groups can be set to on context
- A flexible and extendable tag import mechanism, to enable
regular importing of tags from external systems such as AD,
SAP
But to consider MatchPoint to be only an alternative taxonomy to
the Term Store would be a mistake. MatchPoint offers much more in
order to help build powerful SharePoint solutions, naturally
leveraging the advantages of its taxonomy.
MatchPoint offers:
MatchPoint for SharePoint 2010 is the preferred content service
and end-to-end application framework for intranets, collaboration
and composite content applications.
