Overview
To make large SharePoint environments successful, a governance
plan has to be established in a general layer that all applications
can access. In this governance layer, the business objects used in
SharePoint and the relations between them must be defined and
global governance rules for applications and content
established.
MatchPoint is the product to help you put your governance in
place. In three steps, MatchPoint provides you with
configurable tools to implement governance and SharePoint
applications using a reusable methodology based on semantics:
Step 1: In a global ontology you can represent
your business model and thus create the important relations between
business objects in SharePoint and your line of business
applications.
Step 2: MatchPoint automatically connects your
business model with all objects created in SharePoint based on an
application logic - a dynamic, real-time "topic map" is created to
help you navigate in your information base.
Step 3: The now enhanced information can be
accessed from different business-relevant contexts, which allows
search-based, personalized views and supports information reuse,
knowledge management and decision making processes throughout the
company
The first two steps are delivered in the MatchPoint Service
layer and API that is common to all MatchPoint applications
and can be seen as an additional functional layer to SharePoint.
The third step consists of a set of 10 webparts to easily build
sustainable intranet, collaboration and composite content
applications.
